Volkswagen: Victim of Trends?
SUMMARY: Whatever happened to Volkswagen in America? Talk about your meteoric rise to chic-status followed just as quickly by “deal of the week” incentives. Is VW’s story simply that of misguided management, or is it symptomatic of a new “trend” cycle where every automaker is given just a few months to ride the launch of new vehicles before they are replaced in the consumer's eye by the “next new thing?”

Re: Volkswagen: Victim of Trends?
i agree with vw being lead by misguided management. for one, audi isn't it's own anymore. audi doesn't have one car that is completely different from a vw. the phaeton is the same as A8. the passat has been upped, so now it is equal to the A4. the r32 is about the same thing as the audi tt.
i am not saying this is going to hurt audi, it will most likely hurt vw. think about it, what are you going to do, get a vw or spend a few thousand more for about the same car but being an audi. when you pull up to a golf course or something, you would rather be in an audi than a vw. so i think vw just hurt themselves having their sister brand not having any unique cars.
