Hello,

I need some help. My Civic died. After checking the ecm LED flash codes, I get 15 nd 16 flashes respectively. Tells me my igniter and/or a fuel injector are bad. Ok.. But my manual, Haynes, does not display the distributor in my car. The car was buitl in Japan (VIN # verified). My distibutor I thought was a Toyo Denso. The problem is that my coil is actually inside and attached to the distributor. Right on top as you remove the cap. Where is the ignitor? No photo depicts this type of distributor. HELP!

Any advice is gratefully appreciated.

Ignitor is under the cap as well. Most likely there is a black cover under the rotor bug, if you remove the bug and the cover you will see more goodies under there. While you are at it, check for any metal shavings and play on the shaft. There are a couple magnetic sensors in there and they will collect the shavings if there are any there. The bearings in Honda distributors are known to go bad. If this is the case, ebay is your friend, new distributor on there is much cheaper than your local parts store.
