Deciding on my "first" vehicle.reissigree 02-21-2012, 03:22 PM Hey guys! I'm new to the forum. Anyway, I've been driving a Jeep Cherokee for the last two years and loving it. I'm 18 now and it's time to pass the Jeep on to my little brother. I originally wanted a 1998 Jeep Wrangler but when I checked insurance on it, I found out I would be paying $500 a month. I'm currently in college and good gas mileage is one of my concerns. However, I also have a small bass boat that I need to pull. I have about $16,000 to spend but would prefer to spend $10,000 so I have a little left over to fix it up. I like leather seats. I've been looking at GMC trucks for a little while and I like the Sierra 2007 and up. I also wouldn't mind driving something smaller if it meant better mileage. I'd like a V6. I've been extremely overwhelmed searching online for vehicles. SO, based on all the random thoughts I just provided do you guys have any suggestions on what kind of vehicle would be good for me? Thanks! P_A_B 02-21-2012, 07:40 PM if you want enough power to pull your boat you won't get that great of mileage. But here is a site that shows trucks with decent mileage. I did not check the prices of buying them used...so I cannot tell you what price range there are in. http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/best-worst.shtml Good luck! MagicRat 02-21-2012, 10:18 PM What about a compact pick up truck? They will pull your boat and some are really nice. For some reason, compact trucks are not too popular and are pretty cheap to buy.... and they generally are cheap to insure as well. chinabydev 02-22-2012, 02:47 AM How about all electric vehicle? matthew01 03-26-2012, 08:09 AM you can find some good options here http://www.adpost.com/us/vehicles/Jeeps__SUVs/ Automotive Articles .com, Copyright ©2012
