Your car would start and run on battery power until the battery drained and then the engine will quit. Recharging the battery will let it start and run again until drained and quits familyman720 03-07-2012, 02:44 PM back again, still doing it.i found out that for a spark issue it is slimed down to the coil, ign module and the computer. my ign module is built into the cars pc so that is debunked, the coil is new and still does it with old one. no spark in any wire once it fails. sooooooooo that leaves the pc. i got a pc off a buddy at a1 auto and swaped them, let it sit all day, tryed to reset all that, still wont stay running, lost my job over this. please help with ant more ideas familyman720 03-07-2012, 02:48 PM oh and if it were the alt, the power supply would not let the starter turn over and over, and i know its now the alt because its so quick to shut off when it fails and its just a ign problem nothing more than no spark familyman720 03-07-2012, 02:49 PM typo NOT jamesslcx 03-08-2012, 05:03 PM Familyman720, so you are sure it is a no spark situation, it cranks over but will not start. Have you checked for spark at the plugs? Made absolutely sure it is getting fuel and the fuel pressure is good? You have about covered everything ignition wise. Check engine light on? Does your car have an ASD relay? Which means automatic shut down, your computer uses this relay to shut down your engine when it senses a problem somewhere. Check for power leading up to the coil. Possibly an ignition switch also. Hope this helps. familyman720 03-12-2012, 04:02 PM thanks james for input but yes it is a before the wires ign fail. auto shutd was swapped around with diff relays and did not help, crank cam good 2 computers two coils so its been at the shop for 3 days now and they did everything i did so now there looking at a wiring schematic for failing wires. got the whole shop stumped. i will post the problem when it is solved. so who ever has to deal with this they will know.
