Valve coverjjayy 02-22-2012, 06:37 PM hello all im new to this site. i have recently noticed that my wife's 2003 Ford Taurus SES V6 OHV, valve covers are leaking oil. The car has over 100,000 miles on it. looked at a haynes service manual and it said that the valve covers have a gasket built in and should last the life of the engine. guess was just wanting to reassure that i can replace them and if any one has changed a set how much time it would take, weekend project or week long project? Any help would be much appreciated, JJay shorod 02-22-2012, 09:39 PM You need to remove the upper intake manifold to get to the valve covers, and the gaskets are replaceable. The factory service manual identifies a couple of areas where you need to apply RTV when reinstalling as well. If you'd like a copy of the procedures from the factory service manual, send me a Private Message with the request AND an e-mail address for you. -Rod jjayy 02-23-2012, 04:06 AM alright thats what i needed to know. thank you shorod Automotive Articles .com, Copyright ©2012
