this is probably guna sound cliche, but its probably guna be the fast and furious movies, or gone in 60 seconds.

I'd have to go with Gone in 60 Seconds... still one of my favorites.

I will second that got to love that they use real wrecks instead of CGI effects.

The best has got to be American Graffiti. The others are definitely good. But.

Gone in 60 seconds..I love the Angelina Jolie and the different cars they stole especially the mustang..

I like the disneys "cars" movie. We have enjoyed watching it over and over at our house.

Speed Zone aka Cannonball Run 3 was great, the first two were crap.

Gumball Rally was awesome as well. A Ferrari doesn't need a review mirror because what's behind a Ferrari doesn't matter.

Gone In 60 Seconds, not the remake, was a really fun movie to me.

The Italian Job, both, were awesome although I like the remake more.

The Fast And The Furious was pretty entertaining, only the first one.

Vanishing Point was an excellent movie, the 1997 remake wasn't horrible either.

The Transporter, just the first one.

The Chase, also the remake.

Ronin must be mentioned for the kick ass car chase.

Anyone ever heard of "Catch me if you can"? Not the lamo one with Leo DiCaprio. This one was made in the late 80's. It's about a high school kid, in a 68 Chevelle, who's involved in some serious street racing with a lot of nice cars, Chases, races, and no CGI. A 57 Chevy even scores a field goal. I won't say how, you'll need to see it, but it happens....I can't, for the life of me, find it anywhere on DVD, or VHS. Anyone here have it? Anyone here be able to burn me a dvd of it? No one here has probably ever even heard of it.

Next on my list are "Gumball Ralley", and "Speed Zone", for sure.

I remember that flick!
I saw it almost 20 years ago but remember it well.
The 1957 Chevy rod was buried under the football field, if I remember right.

Gee, I hope I'm not posting too late on this as I seldom stray into here.
Let's see; my favourite of them all has to be Vanishing Point and I can
see that it's been mentioned. Well some of the others that I like haven't been
so here are some additions; The Lively Set, 1964. James Darren, Doug McClure.
It's the only movie I can think of that has the Chrysler Turbine car and Mickey
Thompson sharing some of the driving scenes.
White Lightning, 1973. Burt Reynolds. If you listen very carefully to the dialogue
while Burt looks under the hood of his new Ford "blocker" he says "429 with two
four barrel carburettors". Lots of nice driving in this flick.
Fear is the Key, 1972. Barry Newman. The same guy who drove the Challenger
in the original Vanishing Point. This time he does a chase scene that lasts not
quite fifteen minutes in a Ford Torino. The rest of the movie is "who dunnit".
The Seven-Ups, 1973. Roy Scheider. Mostly a cops and robbers flick; it has a
pretty well done chase scene that really "cements" the movie.
The two cars used in the chase scene were both Pontiacs.
A 1973 Pontiac Grand Ville and a 1973 Pontiac Ventura Sprint. Very nice.

Was gonna go with the classic Gone in 60 Seconds and F&F choices but there was a good one in there I can't deny.. Transformers. Can we consider that a "car movie"?

It's funny but my wife and I were just talking about this earlier today. One of my favorite movies period is "The Driver" with Ryan O'Neal as the getaway driver. The chase of the Pontiac TransAm by the Chevy truck is great stuff. And the way the sequence ends ("I'm just the driver"). Classic!

I prefer "The Blues Brothers" as a best car movie, which I saw ever. It has a police motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, which is police tires, suspension police, police clashes is a model catalysts before so good going to work with regular gasoline.

I like Triple XXX, Amazing Mustang of Vin Diesel.:cool:

My favorite car movie is Fast and Furious. It is very good movie. I love to see this movie. There are thrill and action in this movie. Cars shown in this movies are superb. Car race show in this movie is best. Cars models shown in this movie are best and sporty. Every car had different and very good look.

I would have to say my favorite car movies would have to be the fast and furious series. I just recently seen fast 5 and I love how they left that major cliff hanger at the end. It really gets you thinking. they are all just good movies in general. Tanner Foust did the stunts for Tokyo drift an I must admit they were extremely b.a.... The racing scenes really get your heart racing :) great movies. I'd recommend every one if them!

I watched Ronin the other day, that has some great chase scenes, and The Transporter series all have some great moments, although the second one was a bit too american.

Can't say I heard of "short time" , but I might download it and watch it later. Hey I thought of some more: The James Bond films ( especially "quantum of solace" at the first of the movie and "tomorrow never dies" when bond drives his remote controlled BMW 750 in the parkade. Those were awesome and not just because I am a huge james bond fan. (p.s. Daniel Craig is the best bond since sean connery, hands down!)

I agree with everything you say! Daniel Craig is an amazing bond the first 5 minutes of quantum of solace is my favorite car chase scene ever. But my favorite car movie would have to be Tokyo Drift, Initial D is alright too.

I really enjoyed red line, all the cars in it were my favorites and the movie was fantastic.

Bullit with steve mcqueen has the best car chase ever. My grandfather gave me this movie for my sixteenth birthday.

I personally liked, Fast and Furious (Action packed), Gone in 60 seconds, CARS and Transformers.

My favorite so far was Gone in 60 Seconds the 2000 film. actually the first time I saw it was just this 2009. and hey I was interested in seeing the 1974 film of that. Was it like the latest Gone in 60 sec 2000 film? I haven't seen it yet so I was just a little bit interested about that movie. any thoughts about the orig film of that?

Dont forget The Blues Brothers and The French Connection which was probably one of the most realistic ones. But mine has to be Bullit with Steve McQueen!
