thunderjim 07-30-2009, 05:10 PM What's your favorite car movie? veedubster 08-15-2009, 10:37 AM this is probably guna sound cliche, but its probably guna be the fast and furious movies, or gone in 60 seconds. its like car porn! audiengine 08-31-2009, 05:48 PM I'd have to go with Gone in 60 Seconds... still one of my favorites. MagicRat 08-31-2009, 06:26 PM The Italian Job (both new and old versions) Smokey and the Bandit... (the original) Thunderbolt and Lightfoot... not entirely a car movie, but lots of car action! lokeelou 08-31-2009, 07:47 PM Grindhouse/Planet Terror by Rodriguez. You only need the one cool car to make a great car movie. Batmobile09 09-06-2009, 12:31 PM Smokey and the Bandit, I think they were in the car the whole movie or it seemed like it :evillol: ryanfrompoco 09-07-2009, 04:41 PM Grindhouse/Planet Terror by Rodriguez. You only need the one cool car to make a great car movie. I will second that got to love that they use real wrecks instead of CGI effects. znova70 09-20-2009, 08:36 PM The best has got to be American Graffiti. The others are definitely good. But. ampretty001 09-24-2009, 01:46 AM Gone in 60 seconds..I love the Angelina Jolie and the different cars they stole especially the mustang.. kayacamilla 10-25-2009, 02:06 PM Super cliche, but i'd have to say all the fast and the furious movies. and a the italian job (the new one) was pretty cool. haven't seen the old one though... :( CraigZerch 10-25-2009, 04:32 PM I like the disneys "cars" movie. We have enjoyed watching it over and over at our house. Jeff Slone 11-18-2009, 03:11 PM The Mustang in Gone in 60 Second's. That was a nice car! Polygon 11-19-2009, 03:41 PM Smokey & The Bandit was great, but only the first one. Speed Zone aka Cannonball Run 3 was great, the first two were crap. Gumball Rally was awesome as well. A Ferrari doesn't need a review mirror because what's behind a Ferrari doesn't matter. Gone In 60 Seconds, not the remake, was a really fun movie to me. The Italian Job, both, were awesome although I like the remake more. The Fast And The Furious was pretty entertaining, only the first one. Vanishing Point was an excellent movie, the 1997 remake wasn't horrible either. The Transporter, just the first one. The Chase, also the remake. Ronin must be mentioned for the kick ass car chase. Truckinik 12-08-2009, 09:28 PM Anyone ever heard of "Catch me if you can"? Not the lamo one with Leo DiCaprio. This one was made in the late 80's. It's about a high school kid, in a 68 Chevelle, who's involved in some serious street racing with a lot of nice cars, Chases, races, and no CGI. A 57 Chevy even scores a field goal. I won't say how, you'll need to see it, but it happens....I can't, for the life of me, find it anywhere on DVD, or VHS. Anyone here have it? Anyone here be able to burn me a dvd of it? No one here has probably ever even heard of it. Next on my list are "Gumball Ralley", and "Speed Zone", for sure. RahX 01-01-2010, 12:46 AM How about some classics? Dirty Mary and Crazy Larry - has Peter Fonda in it The original Gone in 60 Seconds The Last American Hero - Jeff Bridges Vanishing Point Thunder Road Bullit ( only one good 10 min car chase :( ) Two Lane Blacktop Death Race 2000 ( probably the worst movie ever lol ) honda skyline 01-07-2010, 07:07 PM gone in 60 seconds all of the fast and the furious series the italian job old and new :iceslolan the cannonball run death race transporter 2 and 3 the gumball rally MagicRat 01-24-2010, 10:17 PM Anyone ever heard of "Catch me if you can"? I won't say how, you'll need to see it, but it happens....I can't, for the life of me, find it anywhere on DVD, or VHS.. I remember that flick! I saw it almost 20 years ago but remember it well. The 1957 Chevy rod was buried under the football field, if I remember right. Here is a clip and info: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/Catch-me-if-you-can-Part_153980.htm http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0097029/ Now, from about the same time, I remember a movie about some high school kids, with a '69 GTO who discover an alien spacecraft artifact, capable of time travel or something.......... can't remember the name :( danielsatur 01-24-2010, 10:19 PM How about Mad Max! BlueDjinn 03-06-2010, 02:48 PM Gee, I hope I'm not posting too late on this as I seldom stray into here. Let's see; my favourite of them all has to be Vanishing Point and I can see that it's been mentioned. Well some of the others that I like haven't been so here are some additions; The Lively Set, 1964. James Darren, Doug McClure. It's the only movie I can think of that has the Chrysler Turbine car and Mickey Thompson sharing some of the driving scenes. White Lightning, 1973. Burt Reynolds. If you listen very carefully to the dialogue while Burt looks under the hood of his new Ford "blocker" he says "429 with two four barrel carburettors". Lots of nice driving in this flick. Fear is the Key, 1972. Barry Newman. The same guy who drove the Challenger in the original Vanishing Point. This time he does a chase scene that lasts not quite fifteen minutes in a Ford Torino. The rest of the movie is "who dunnit". The Seven-Ups, 1973. Roy Scheider. Mostly a cops and robbers flick; it has a pretty well done chase scene that really "cements" the movie. The two cars used in the chase scene were both Pontiacs. A 1973 Pontiac Grand Ville and a 1973 Pontiac Ventura Sprint. Very nice. caligreen 04-21-2010, 01:53 PM Was gonna go with the classic Gone in 60 Seconds and F&F choices but there was a good one in there I can't deny.. Transformers. Can we consider that a "car movie"? RacerE7773 04-27-2010, 10:10 AM Not really favorite movies (with a couple tv shows thrown in), merely my favorite vehicles from them. movies: The Transporter: BMW 735 The Transformers: Barricade Die Another Day: Aston Martin Vanquish The Spy who Loved Me: Lotus Esprit The Car: The Car tv: Knight Rider: KITT of course (the real Knight Rider, not the ripoff) Starsky and Hutch Speed Racer: Mach 5 and the GRX. Dukes: General Lee As for the remakes/ripoffs of tv shows either in movies or tv: :headshake dizzle1 05-30-2010, 08:09 PM Ronin 1998 Bmw M5/Mercedes 450SEL 6.9L of German Muscle/ Audi S8 The Fast and the Furious 2001 Supra/Eclipse GSX/Charger/all Vanishing Point 1997 Gone in 60 Seconds 1999 Mustang GT500/all Bullit 1968 Mustang The Transporter 2002 Bmw scene Tomorrow Never Dies 1997 Bmw 750iL No Mans Land 1987 Porsches The Chase 1994 92 Bmw 325is oldblu65 06-04-2010, 05:15 PM " Duel " ! Bluesax 09-24-2010, 11:18 AM It's funny but my wife and I were just talking about this earlier today. One of my favorite movies period is "The Driver" with Ryan O'Neal as the getaway driver. The chase of the Pontiac TransAm by the Chevy truck is great stuff. And the way the sequence ends ("I'm just the driver"). Classic! robsgarage 12-13-2010, 08:38 PM Smokey & The Bandit was great, but only the first one. Speed Zone aka Cannonball Run 3 was great, the first two were crap. Gumball Rally was awesome as well. It has a police motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, which is police tires, suspension police, police clashes is a model catalysts before so good going to work with regular gasoline. killdaggy 02-25-2011, 08:29 AM I like Triple XXX, Amazing Mustang of Vin Diesel. obama5493 03-15-2011, 10:17 AM Grindhouse/Planet Terror by Rodriguez. I just recently seen fast 5 and I love how they left that major cliff hanger at the end. It really gets you thinking. they are all just good movies in general. Tanner Foust did the stunts for Tokyo drift an I must admit they were extremely b.a.... The racing scenes really get your heart racing :) great movies. I'd recommend every one if them! thijs37 08-10-2011, 11:12 AM maybe i'm just old or maybe its not realy a car movie but i have to say steve mcqueens "le mans" Moppie 08-10-2011, 04:29 PM I watched Ronin the other day, that has some great chase scenes, and The Transporter series all have some great moments, although the second one was a bit too american. maybe i'm just old or maybe its not realy a car movie but i have to say steve mcqueens "le mans" Never to old! Hey I thought of some more: The James Bond films ( especially "quantum of solace" at the first of the movie and "tomorrow never dies" when bond drives his remote controlled BMW 750 in the parkade. Those were awesome and not just because I am a huge james bond fan. (p.s. Daniel Craig is the best bond since sean connery, hands down!) justinB2 10-25-2011, 03:05 AM I love Smokey and the Bandit movies. I have watched them several times.
